B. Power Failure. The
Village at present has approximately 2 ½ days (400,000
Gallons) of water storage supply with
on site emergency power back up. Based
on
the anticipated power failure
duration, the following practices and / or contacts
shall be considered:
1.
Contact and consult with
Oneida Department of Public Health at the above
referenced
number(s) and NYSEG for determination of length of power outage.
2.
If extended outage threatens
supply call NYSEG-Pete Mason, Line Construction Supervisor @ 315-841-8008, cell

C. Contamination of Source:
1.
Contact and consult with the
Oneida County Department of Health Immediately.
2.
Discontinue use or issue
Boil Water Advisory with public notification (see A- 4), as appropriate.
3.
Consider use of imported
water (if practical – see Item A-6).
4.
Consider use of emergency
source if importing water is not practical.
This

used only with Oneida County Department of Public Health approval.
5.
Contact Civil Defense if
necessary.
6.
Consider declaration of
Water Emergency or Voluntary Water Conservation
Measures.
D. Water Leaks:
1.
Notify Oneida County
Department of Public Health at (315) 798-5064.
2. Check for visible evidence
of leaks. Repair as soon as possible.
3.
If leaks cause noticeable pressure loss, consider issuance of Boil Water
advisory and consumer
notification (see Item A-4).
4.
If leaks persist or cannot be located, contact

Security
/ Safety:
1.
All doors and security
fencing gates to water utilities shall be locked at all times.
2.
All security lighting for water
utilities shall be in working order.
3.
All entryways to water
utilities must be clearly marked, “AUTHORIZED
PERSONNEL
ONLY”.
4. Existing alarms must be in
good working order.
5.
All local law enforcement
personnel shall routinely patrol all water utility locations.
6.
All water utility personnel
shall be trained for emergency
procedures:
